1. Scope of this request
This page provides a way to request deletion of an eligible MessengerSky account and/or personal information. Deletion rights are not absolute and may vary by jurisdiction.
2. What may be deleted
Subject to verification and applicable law, deletion may include account profile information and other personal information associated with the account that we are no longer required or permitted to retain. Some information may be irreversibly removed and account access may end.
3. Information we may retain
We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, establish or defend legal claims, prevent fraud and abuse, protect users and systems, enforce agreements, or maintain security. Properly anonymized information may no longer identify you and may therefore fall outside deletion obligations.
4. Verification
To protect users from fraudulent deletion requests, we may ask you to verify control of the account or provide additional information reasonably necessary to confirm identity. We will not ask for unnecessary sensitive information solely to process a request.
5. Processing time
We aim to acknowledge and process verified requests without undue delay and in accordance with applicable law. Where GDPR applies, organizations generally must respond to rights requests without undue delay and, in principle, within one month, subject to lawful extensions or exceptions.
6. Backups and residual copies
Deleted information may persist temporarily in secure backups or system logs until those systems cycle or are overwritten, subject to retention, security and legal requirements. During that period, information should not be restored for ordinary product use except where necessary for backup recovery, security or legal purposes.
7. Requests concerning minors
Where a request concerns information provided when the individual was a child, additional deletion rights may apply under applicable law. We may request verification of identity or authority while seeking to minimize collection of additional information.
8. Other privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to access, correct, restrict or object to processing, obtain portability, withdraw consent, or complain to a competent data-protection authority.
